Our full time operations team works hard to maintain a comprehensive support system that is built for your success! Starting at 4:30am daily, the salon is prepared to be fresh and inviting for our 8:30am open. We always staff someone to sweep for you during haircuts, prepare and sanitize your station in between clients, and tend to all of the salon's needs, including laundry, cleaning, stocking and closing up. Upscale Male also employs a full time management and front desk receptionist team, who handle all appointments and client scheduling, cancellations, phone calls, and client check-ins.

Management at UM stay focused on scheduling stylists based on their individual situations and we always make sure to find the right balance for scheduling that is unique to a stylist’s own availability, childcare, and personal life situation.
WORK LIFE BALANCE MATTERS!
The salons hours are amazing! We close at 4:30pm on Fridays and Saturday and we are closed on Sundays. Our stylists have fixed schedules with guaranteed weekly hours that never get shortened. Extra hours are always available and are posted on our employee scheduling app. Staff have access to their 10-week posted schedule, and can easily request days off and vacation time. Our scheduling policies are very flexible and we support and promote a great work-life balance for all of our staff.

No clientele is needed! With our extensive book of clients after 20+ years in business, booking demand is very strong all year round. New stylists are consistently 95 % + fully booked with appointments scheduled for them while they are still in training!

All stylists are automatically signed up for a UM Savings Account and begin to earn deposits right from their first appointment. UM Savings Deposits are not based on sales performance or revenue targets, instead you are rewarded for organic client building and for cultivating your book of clientele for the long term.

UM PAID TRAINING

During training, you will be paid $30/Hr plus keep any tips received from client models. Our new hire training is individualized and taught on a one on one basis, with provided client models. Coaching and Mentoring is provided during on-boarding process and continues throughout your career at Upscale Male.

Stylists get 30-minutes or more of scheduled paid downtime built into every shift. We understand how important it is to rest and eat, and just how helpful a small window of time can also be to get caught up in life.

We make sure you are dressed for success from day 1! $400 is allotted and given to you upon getting hired to purchase all new business professional tops, pants, and shoes for work.

All new stylists are entitled to a brand new quality pair of scissors, up to $400 from our partnered vendor.
